Hello! My name is Mrs. Green and I teach third grade here at the Placer Academy for Accelerated Learning. I am a Chico State graduate (Go Wildcats) having earned my B.A degree in Social Work in 1995. Later, I attended Fresno State where I earned a Master’s degree in Counseling. Then in 2008, I finished an elementary teaching credential program through CalState TEACH.
My entire career has been dedicated to working with children in some capacity. I’ve worked with foster children, juvenile delinquents, emotionally disturbed, and abused children. I spent two years working with law enforcement to prosecute perpetrators of crimes against children. Just prior to pursuing a career in education, I was an adoption social worker specializing in foster adoption and international adoption. Since earning my teaching credential I have taught first, third, and sixth grades with most of my time being spent in third grade.
I am married to Mr. Green. We have two great children; Megan is attending Sierra College and Kyle is in 10th grade at Whitney High School in Rocklin. As a family we enjoy traveling (especially to Maui), swimming, bike riding, movie watching, hanging out at the beach and Disneyland. We also have an adorable shitzu, Zack. I am sure my students will enjoy many silly stories about Zack - the cat/dog. My personal interests include reading, yoga, traveling, and doing things with my family & friends.
I absolutely love teaching! There is no place I would rather be every day than in my classroom with my students. Third grade is going to be a year of huge growth for your child and your family. Thank you for choosing PAC and allowing me to be part of their lives!
My name is Tricia DeJersey and I teach 4th grade at Placer Academy. I have had the pleasure of teaching 3rd, 4th, 5th grade, and Transitional Kindergarten. With the wide range of grades that I have taught I have been able to relate to many levels of learning and it has aided me in the ability to identify student strengths of all ages. I received my education through Sacramento State University and my teaching credential at Chapman University. I have taught for Western Placer Unified School District as well as the Newcastle School district. Teaching is my passion and working with children is a gift. My students and I have a relationship that is based on respect, dedication, and consistency. I believe in every child’s potential and thrive on the possibility of all things. I’m very happy to be a part of such an enthusiastic group of teachers, parents, and students here at Placer Academy.
