Hola! My name is Rachel Gardner, and I am a long time Newcastle resident. I discovered my love for Spanish at Del Oro High School and since then, I haven’t stopped studying and traveling to feed this passion. I graduated from California State University, Long Beach, with a degree in Spanish and a degree in Translation and Interpretation. To enrich my education, I spent one year studying at the University of Granada in Granada, Spain. After graduation I returned to Spain and taught English for a year at IES Albayzín, a Secondary School in Granada, through a grant from the Spanish Embassy. Recently I have been working as a substitute teacher and a freelance interpreter, and I am looking forward to working with children and helping them develop the same love that I have for the Spanish language.
