My name is Jeanne Blake, and I am excited join the Placer Academy Team as a 2nd grade teacher. I was born in Auburn and went to school at Newcastle Elementary from K-8th grade where I experienced wonderful teachers and a felt strong sense of community. I earned my BA from Sacramento State University in Psychology and Criminal Justice, but after volunteering as a tutor in the Placer County Juvenile Hall, I discovered I had a passion for teaching. I went back to Sac State for my teaching credential, and I have been teaching in the Yuba City Unified School District for the past 13 years. I taught 5th, 2nd, and 3rd grades until I became the Reading Intervention Teacher for Andros Karpreos School. As an Interventionist, I worked with students from Kindergarten through 8th grade who had trouble acquiring reading skills and managed our school’s Response to Intervention program. Watching students become successful and push themselves to master a challenge is awesome. Nothing gives me more joy than watching a child discover that they CAN do something! My son, husband, and I are happy to be moving back home to Placer County to spend time with our family and friends.
Hi, I am Mrs. Shane, and I teach second grade at Placer Academy. I was born and raised in Petaluma, California and moved to Sacramento for college. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Sacramento in 2009 and then completed the Urban Teacher Education Center credential program in 2010.
Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. My passion is being in the classroom and sharing my love for learning. My goals as an educator are to meet the individual and group needs of my students in ways that support and challenge them in order to foster the greatest intellectual, social, and emotional growth. I also strive to create a safe and team-oriented community where all students feel acceptance and belonging. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy reading, being outdoors, and traveling with my husband.
