My name is Thea Allan and I am excited to be teaching kindergarten at Placer Academy! I graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and soon went to work in a law office. Feeling like I was still searching for something fulfilling that would combine my interest in psychology with my love of family and children, I decided to go back to school at National University to pursue a teaching credential. Upon graduating and finishing my student teaching, I began work in the Roseville City School District where I taught kindergarten for 4 years and then taught second grade for the next two years. At that point, I was a mom to two amazing daughters and I made the decision to stay at home with them full time. This time was a gift on many levels! I very much enjoyed being able to maintain classroom and teaching ties by working at their school with their teachers, and being present in their education while spending as much quality time with them as possible. I was ready to get back into teaching last year and was able to spend almost the entire school year in two different kindergarten classrooms in the Roseville City School District as a long-term substitute. Kindergarten is such a special and priceless year and I am grateful to be part of this dynamic, wonderful staff and school. It is my intent to create a feeling of teamwork and community, celebrate students’ success, and foster a love of learning.
