Who is Placer Academy Charter?
We have families enrolled from the entire Placer County area, but the majority of students come from the Rocklin, Roseville, Lincoln and Granite Bay areas.
Why is this program unique?
Placer Academy Charter has several items that make it unique: small class size, full day kindergarten program, project based learning, robust art program and Core Knowledge ® curriculum.
Is there a tuition or a fee to attend Placer Academy Charter? Do you have uniforms?
No, PAC is a public charter school and requires no special fees or tuition to attend. No, uniforms are not required at Placer Academy Charter.
Does my child have to be “gifted” or ahead of grade level to attend Placer Academy Charter?
No, we welcome all students and encourage each child to perform to their highest potential through differentiated learning.
Does my child have to “test” into the school?
No, we do not require students to take a test for entrance.
What grades are offered and what are the class ratios?
We currently offer a K-6th grade program. Class ratios are capped at 24 students per class.
Do you offer full day Kindergarten?
Yes, Placer Academy Charter is a full day kindergarten. Kindergartners must be age 5 by September 1st, 2022 to attend 2022-2023 school year.
What is project-based learning?
Teachers facilitate and present children with challenging questions and problems that encourage them to think “outside the box” through a hands-on project method. By actively participating in project given, students encounter central concepts and principles about the subjects they are studying, which develop valuable research, problem solving, decision-making and investigate skills. Project-based learning allows the students to learn from their experiences, and then to apply what they have learned to the world around them.
Are your teachers credentialed? Do you meet state standards?
All teachers are fully credentialed teachers and all state standards are taught and met at Placer Academy Charter.
What are the Placer Academy Charter attendance expectations?
As with any school, to be successful the students need to be in class regularly. The current school calendar has set aside school breaks and early release days.
