I found my passion for teaching while volunteering in my children’s classrooms. This compelled me to go back to college, and I graduated from William Jessup University with my bachelor’s in Liberal Studies and my minor in Bible and Theology. My wonderful family has supported me through this amazing adventure. My husband and I have three children and two dogs; a crazy Golden Retriever dog named Max and his tiny side-kick, a Lhasa Apso named Scrunchi. We are a fiercely devoted soccer family. All three children have played soccer from a very young age, and John and I have never grown weary of cheering them on. I am excited about the opportunity I have been given to partner with other Placer Academy families to ensure the success of our students. I spend a great deal of time reminding my students about the power of the "Collective Brain" (many minds working together to solve the world's problems). I encourage team work and cooperative learning. Let’s not forget that it takes a team to get the ball down the field, but in the end, you can’t make a goal unless you take the shot. I look forward to encouraging your kids to take their shot.
I am so thrilled to be joining the fourth grade team here at Placer Academy Charter. I have spent the last 7 years taking a class from 2nd to 8th grade at a Waldorf inspired charter school in Orangevale and I am looking forward to this new adventure. I love nature, the arts, and anything musical. I am heavily involved in the local theatre scene and hold a Bachelors in Musical Theatre. I view my classroom as a second home and my class as family. I look forward to meeting my class and building our community together.
