Hi, I am Chelsea Brumfield and I am one of the fourth grade teachers at Placer Academy! I was born and raised in Menlo Park, California and attended Azusa Pacific University where I earned my B.A. in Elementary Ed. I then attended Kaplan University for a B.S. in Nutrition and finished out with my Master’s degree from National University. Needless to say, I love learning! Before settling in Lincoln in 2012, my husband was in the Army for 7 years and we were able to live in many beautiful places. I am a diehard Giants fan and was lucky enough to cheer them on at a World Series game in 2014!
We have two vivacious daughters and one sweet doggie. In my free time I like to do triathlons. I completed one of my bucket list aspirations by competing in a Half Ironman race in 2016. I enjoy gardening, reading, and spending time with my family in Santa Cruz. I also have a slight addiction to Starbucks.
I feel so lucky I get to teach fourth grade! I love what I do and see teaching as a team effort. I have high expectations for my students and myself. I strive to create life-long learners in my classroom, so we work hard and play hard.
I am originally from the foothills and I went Placer High School. I graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a BA in psychology. After college, I moved to San Francisco and worked in the telecommunications industry for a couple of years as a consultant where I met my husband. However, I realized that I wanted to do a job that was more meaningful and that would impact the world in a bigger way. I earned my multiple subject teaching credential from San Francisco State and took a job teaching second grade in the city at Sherman Elementary School in the Marina. After teaching in San Francisco for a few years, we started our family, moved back to the foothills to build our home, and I stayed home with our children for many years. When my eldest started high school, I went back to work teaching at Chicago Park Elementary here in the foothills. I taught 5th grade there for the last two years.
My husband and I live in Newcastle on a little farm with our 3 children, 33 sheep, 16 chickens, 2 cats, and a neurotic Border Collie. Our oldest daughter is a Senior and our son is a Sophomore at Del Oro. Our youngest daughter is going into 6th grade at Harvest Ridge in Newcastle. In my spare time (what spare time?!) I enjoy cooking, reading and traveling. I am thrilled to be joining the team at Placer Academy. I look forward to teaching 4th grade - especially Language Arts and History.
Hi, my name is Cori Williams and I teach fourth grade at Placer Academy Charter.
I grew up in Woodland, California and attended Wheaton College, which is near Chicago, where I received my degree in elementary education and a minor is psychology. I had the opportunity to teach abroad in Senegal, West Africa and I have been teaching in California for twelve years.
My wonderful husband and I have an enthusiastic six year old son and a curious two old daughter. In my free time I enjoy hiking, reading, and sailing with my dad.
I am pleased to be a part of this team at Placer Academy and enjoy each school year as an exciting opportunity for learning!
