I love teaching first grade at Placer Academy! I feel fortunate to have a challenging and rewarding job that I look forward to every day. I have a degree in Child Development from CSU Sacramento and began teaching in 2002. I taught fourth and fifth grades in the Rio Linda Union School District until I started my family in 2005. I stayed home with my children for nine years and ventured back into teaching once they were both school age. My daughter is a proud graduate of Placer Academy and my fourth grade son has attended our school since kindergarten. My wonderful husband is an elementary school principal. We have two feisty cats, a sweet dog, and a goldfish named Dwight that is experiencing unprecedented longevity. I like to spend my free time with reading, riding my bike, playing games with my family, reading, hiking, traveling, writing, and reading.
Hi, my name is Mrs. Visek, I am the first grade teacher here at Placer Academy. I have been teaching for 12 years. I earned my bachelors degree in Interior Design from San Jose State. I worked in design for several years before the birth of my son. After he was born I wanted to stay home with him so I opened an in-home daycare which I ran for 10 years. It was during those years that I developed a love of teaching and working with children. I decided to follow my dream of becoming a teacher, so I went back to school and earned my teaching credential and Masters degree in Education from the University of Phoenix. I love teaching and can’t imagine doing anything else. I am so lucky to be able to do what I love everyday. I live in Roseville and have a 22 year old son who is a senior at Chico State and daughter who is a freshman at Chico State. My interests include walking, biking, hiking, and crocheting.
