My name is Stephanie Emerson and I’m thrilled to be teaching first grade at Placer Academy for the upcoming school year! I have a degree in Child Development from CSU Sacramento and began teaching in 2002. I taught fourth and fifth grades in the Rio Linda Union School District until I started my family in 2005. I stayed home with my children for eight years but have recently ventured back into education teaching reading intervention to first through third graders. My wonderful husband is also a teacher and we have two great kids, two feisty cats, and a spunky dog. We are excited that our daughter will be starting seventh grade at Placer Academy in fall! Our 7 year old son is in second grade. I like to spend my free time with my family riding bikes, playing games, hiking, camping, and traveling. I also enjoy reading, writing, gardening, and cooking. I am passionate about nutrition and natural living.
Hi, my name is Mrs. Visek, I am the first grade teacher here at Placer Academy. I have been teaching for 9 years, spent two years subbing in the public schools and then 7 years teaching first grade. I earned my bachelors degree in Interior Design from San Jose State. I worked in design for several years before the birth of my son. After he was born I wanted to stay home with him so I opened an in-home daycare which I ran for 10 years. It was during those years that I developed a love of teaching and working with children. I decided to follow my dream of becoming a teacher so I went back to school and earned my teaching credential and Masters degree in Education from the University of Phoenix. I love teaching and can’t imagine doing anything else. I am so lucky to be able to do what I love everyday. I live in Roseville with my 20 year old son and 16 year old daughter. My interests include running, biking, tennis and knitting.
