FAMILY PARTICIPATION
Rationale:
Why 30 Hours? PAC is not a traditional public school. We are a public charter school, and in order to keep our academic edge and build our unique sense of community, parent participation is imperative. PAC was built on the shoulders of passionate, involved parents, families, and educators who longed for a different kind of school. Many unforeseen challenges were overcome and an innovative and flourishing school emerged. We look forward to our continued growth and advancement and realize that our success rests now on YOUR shoulders, our current generous and involved families. Procedure: Since all families are encouraged to volunteer a minimum of 30 hours per year, PAC offers a conduit through which parents can connect to the many volunteer needs of our school. Opportunities include leadership roles within the PTO, Board of Directors, as well as within various committees. There are many classroom opportunities, as well as take-home projects from teachers and special events/field trips throughout the year where help is needed. PAC strives to help each parent find a unique way to participate so that not only do our children and school benefit, but parents can enjoy the experience and be part of the amazing culture at PAC. Be Proactive: Contact the person listed for the opportunity in which you are interested. Also, contact PAC, your child’s teacher, or your room parent. We are all happy to help find ways to contribute that work best for you. |
