AIR QUALITY PLAN

AIR QUALITY INFORMATION:
The smoke from the fires in Northern California continues to impact our local area. Placer Academy has created the following plan for addressing potentially hazardous air quality days.
Please click HERE to review a breakdown of the air quality levels and what actions PAC would take as the AQI continues to worsen to Hazardous Level.
Placer Academy will utilize AirNow.gov to monitor the Rocklin area air quality conditions. If the air quality reaches the Very Unhealthy Level (151+), typical outdoor activities including recesses, PE, lunch, and snack time, will be moved indoors. If the air quality in Rocklin reaches a Hazardous Level (301+), PAC will close the campus. The decision to close due to poor air quality will not occur if the school day is in progress; however, students will be kept indoors as needed. The decision to close schools will be made by the administration prior to the start of the school day.
PAC will not utilize a distance learning or online learning platform if in-person instruction is temporarily unavailable due to poor air quality. Any missed instructional days will be made up at a later date unless PAC is granted a waiver from the California Department of Education.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We are committed to be prepared with an actionable plan when the air quality drops to unhealthy levels.
